How to Add Multiple 2FA Phone Numbers for Shared Google Accounts
This guide outlines the steps to enable and configure multiple phone numbers for two-factor authentication (2FA) on a shared Google account.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Access Google Account Settings
- Sign in to the shared Google account.
- Click the Google Menu (grid icon) in the top-right corner.
- Select "Account" or navigate directly to https://myaccount.google.com.
2. Navigate to Security Settings
- On the left-hand side, click on Security.
3. Turn On 2-Step Verification (If Not Already Enabled)
- If this is the first time enabling 2FA for the account:
- Locate the 2-Step Verification section at the top of the page.
- Click Get Started and follow the prompts to enable 2FA using a primary phone number.
4. Add Additional Phone Numbers for 2FA
- Scroll down to the 2-Step Verification section.
- Click on 2-Step Verification Phones.
Important: Make sure to select "2-Step Verification Phones" and not the general “2-Step Verification” link again.
- In this section, you can add multiple phone numbers that will be able to receive 2FA codes.
5. Complete and Verify
- After adding additional numbers, ensure each is verified by following the prompts.
- Test the setup to confirm that each added number can successfully receive a verification code.
